Team management & leadership in Algeria: from control to accountability

A strong manager is not the person who controls every detail. The role is to clarify direction, assign responsibility, remove obstacles and create a follow-up system that lets the team operate with more autonomy.

1. Clarify outcomes and ownership

Every assignment needs an expected outcome, one clear owner, a success criterion and a deadline. Ambiguity creates repeated follow-up, duplication and conflict.

2. Delegate outcomes, not only tasks

Real delegation defines the outcome, boundaries, resources and checkpoints, then leaves room for execution. Requiring approval at every step does not build autonomy.

3. Turn meetings into decisions

A good meeting reviews a few indicators, discusses gaps, makes decisions and assigns actions with deadlines. Purely informational meetings consume time without creating change.

4. Use short, frequent feedback

Useful feedback describes observed behavior, its impact and what is expected next. Speed and clarity are often more effective than waiting for a long annual review.
